My why:
Wealth inequity, environmental degradation, food and healthcare access, spiritual poverty, corporate greed, etc. You name an issue and I am confident that our organizations need to be a part of the solution. I probably even have some evidence to back up the claim in question. My effort to improve the world begins with my efforts to build more responsible human-centered organizations.
My what:
I create and nurture structures, systems, and teams demonstrating how profitability can coexist with integrity and sustainability.
I build systems that:
1) employees love
2) balance short-term needs with long-term vision
3) recognize the earth as a key stakeholder
My how:
I combine insights from psychology, economics, and ethical innovation to drive transformative change across complex systems. The buzzwords for this are some combination of “Strategic Foresight”, “Corporate Social Responsibility” “Business Innovation” “Culture Architecture” “Systems Change” “Design Thinking”, etc, but they all boil down to a core skillset in:
1) listening to understand core issues
2) facilitating collective navigation
3) establishing and practicing new patterns…
4) repeat, repeat, repeat
Example stuff I’ve learned a lot from:
P.S. the fantasy books and storytelling podcasts teach just as much as the leadership, science, and history books do ;)
